Nosara is part of the Ostional Wildlife Refuge, about 30 minutes away, where nature stages one of the world’s great shows. During the green season (typically May–December), thousands of sea turtles come ashore at Playa Ostional in a mass nesting known as an arribada. Witnessing this rare phenomenon is unforgettable — a life-changing experience found in only a few places on Earth.
